"Twin Trolleys Invade the Island of Chincoteague!"

The two identical Supreme built Classic American Trolleys seat 28 passengers each and are both ADA handicap accessible. Other features of the trolleys include the nostalgic trolley bells, oak slat seats, authentic cupola, removable side walls, and brass stanchions that make this ride a ride to remember.

The trolley is only 25 to ride and offers transportation to many of the motels, restaurants, shops, parks, recreational areas, ice cream parlors, campgrounds and more. On Wednesdays they offer a specialty tour through the island that takes the tourists to several different historical sites. The cost for the intriguing historic tour is $3.00 for adults, $2.00 for children 12 years of age and under and free for age 2 and under. The trolley takes it's riders to these different sites throughout the island: Municipal Center and Community Center, Fire Station, Carnival Grounds, Memorial Park and Recreational Area, Oyster and Maritime Museum, and the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce.

The response to the new addition has been great. Jack Van Dame, the operator of the trolleys, says the city is already 60% ahead of last year because of the two new trolleys. Even the drivers are thrilled because the trolleys have wonderful air conditioning. The tourists want to see the island and Chincoteague is a tourist based community, so the trolleys work well because it reduces traffic while still allowing the visitors to see everything. There has even been an increase in the number of locals riding the trolley.

Future plans for the use of the trolleys include expanding the current routes to be able to hit both ends of the island.
